I went to sleep last night (Monday) at 7 and woke up around 11 pm eager to get started on my new writing project. I brewed some coffee and started reading my journals. Suddenly waves of sorrow hit me. Grief over all my losses. I decided to focus on just the past 2+ years in recovery. 777 days and counting. Something heavenly about that number.

Consulting with my friend Craig Willers, I decided to turn to prayer. The writing process can be arduous. Ernest Hemingway once said, “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” I know this to be true from previous writing projects, and I also know the value of having a team of prayer warriors diligently lifting me up as I battle the powers and principalities that seek to discourage me. Craig agreed to be a member of my prayer team. If you feel so led to be an intercessor, please reach out to me by leaving a comment, sending me a message, or emailing me at tonyrobertsdelight@gmail.com.

I am projecting January 15, 2028 for completion of a first draft. This is my second anniversary in the Catholic Church. It is my hope and prayer to publish with a collaborative team no later than February 14, 2029 (Ash Wednesday). Leading up to this date, I will be posting “teasers” on Facebook( and publishing snippets here on my blog and Substack (@brotheranthony).

I have been struggling lately to find purpose in my mental pain. Prayer helps a great deal. In addition to this, writing provides a tremendous boost. Writing has consistently been the best therapy for me. Anne Frank wrote, “I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.”
So, let healing process begin. To quote Louis L’Amour –

“Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.
